But only thefirst.You brought it with your credit card? Let them do all the work - they *should* refund you the monies and chase the seller.So, do you work for them or have you had good/bad dealings with them then?Had dealings with them found them very average, and a little expensive, butthey had the bit i wanted, and it was in good nice, just needed cleaningThe credit card company may be able to assist you. In any case They shouldbe honerable enough to make good the claim they made
USED CAR SPARES : Probably wrong newsgroup...as we are mostly into vdubs...but at end of day,can you not name them anyway ( I used to race alfasuds). If they providedcrap service, nothing changes that, so they cannot do you for slander. (takedigipics of problems...will always help in court)I've done the pictures already, but if it all goes badly pear shaped, I willsimply state my dealings with them - others can draw their on conclusionsfrom how I acted and how they acted with respect to the purchase of anengine that was mis-described and defective.As has been suggested, all you need to do is phone your credit card company.They will send you a form to complete, you'll get your money back.This is the important line "Duly my credit card came out of my wallet" - get onto your cedit card company. They can sort it out.Dave
USED CAR SPARES : My younger brother needs to buy his first used car to attain his"freedom"--and he keeps asking me, well, what car should I get?? "HOW DOI KNOW!" I would reply. Should he buy privately or from a dealer? If hebuys from a dealer he can make payments and spend more on car and if hebuys privately he can spend not much over a grand ($1000 U.S.) if thatmuch (he just needs something that'll get him to work and back). What does"NUMBERS MATCH!" mean, and is "RARE CLASSIC!" a good thing? (can I findparts?), and is "RUNS WELL!" always true? We're thinking of getting anolder car or truck from the 60's or 70's so I would have better chance ofdoing some of the repairs myself. Is my logic flawed here? Has anyoneelse gone through this? I like working on cars, but I hate snaking aroundthese compact compartments on the newer cars and worrying about computersand injecters and crap--I'm not an auto technician, just aread-the-book-call-my-uncle-and-give-'e r-a-try fix-it man.
USED CAR SPARES : I'll give you my opinion. Others are sure to disagree, but this isa fairly conservative viewpoint: Depends what he needs the car for. If it's just wheels he should (mypersonal opinion only) buy a dirt cheap plain sedan or hatchback. Imeanspend $500 - $1000 US only! He can learn to fix it when it breaks, and learn how to take car of the machine. Most young guys I know don't have the money to buy expensive cars, pay the associated high insurance rates (that applies to sports cars too), much less make payments to a dealer. Also they have a tendency to abuse and destroy thier first car. Bestnot to be too heavily invested in a toy.If he has a real need for transportation to and from work he may want to spend a little more for something in decent shape (maybe$2000-$3000?), so he can get to work on time (most of the time anyway). YMMV
USED CAR SPARES : AVOID DEALERS. They are in business to make money. YOUR money. Takeyour time and look for a used car from a private seller. Don't buy fromteenagers or anyone who looks like they raced or otherwise beat the hellout of the car. Little old lady sedans are great first cars. May notbe much fun, but that can come a little later.Also avoid payments if possible. Buy only as much car as you canafford.Interest on a car loan is just paying money to borrow money. Startwith a cheap junker and save up for something better. I still have this philosophy. I started on a 20 year old Buick with 285,000 miles on it.It got better when I built up some savings. I bought a used 5.0 Mustanga few years later. I bought both my current cars cash. A 93 Civic new in 93, and a 94 Taurus used in 96.
