SATURN CAR PARTS : Well, I recently had to replace my EGR valve/solenoid assembly. This wasvery easy, and the price is very affordable (sarcasm) for a wear item($110...are they sick?) I noticed a alot of oil in the line. I blew thisout with compressed air. The plunger in the solenoid was caked with soot andoil. Why is oil leaking into the EGR port? I am hoping that some kind soul can point me into the right directionto fix this problem. If you can, please reply to me via email...I had topost via Deja NEws. I am very happy with the car, but I have found Saturnemployees & mechanics in my area to be utter jag-offs(i.e. I cannot get infofrom them and I am usually treated like a communist for wanting to work on myown...well...my girlfriend's car). A friend of mine worked for them and heclaimed that my problem was due to bad valve seals...he also claimed thatSaturn knew about this and shut up about/ignored it (I honsetly think he wasa disgruntled employee at the time)...I don't care either way...I just wantto fix my car :)!!! So, again, if you can help out, I'd really appreciateit!!! Thanks!
SATURN CAR PARTS : PS In case you are wondering...no, I'd never buy a Saturn again, not afterparts costs and the downright ignorance and arrogance of the technical staff. I mean, they're decent looking and run OK at best, but really aren't worththe money in my opinion.-----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- Create Your Own Free Member ForumI think even Scharf would say that he never has seen one like this.If you can, please post an address other than this dejanews nonsense. Noway you are going to convince me that you are aware of DN without havingever posted anything before.Give us SOMETHING that says you are not a troll. I want to believe you, Ijust don't given the info you've provided. And given the posting historyof Scharf, I hope you understand. SATURN CAR PARTS : Hmm, I wonder if he has like a hole in is oil pan or something? There is the answer to your WHOLE problem . It is stated clearly that if youare going to maintain your own vehicle you better have proof of oil and filterpurchases.Saturn would have covered it under extended warranty IF you have proof.Troll, troll, troll your heaveright on over to Steveraspberry, blueberry, lemon or creamjelly donuts are a dream. FWIW, the guy wrote me an e-mail and provided a current e-mail address, and a previous one, in addition to a few other things. I feel prettyconfident that he is for real.-- Harry Crawford King IIIGeorgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332uucp: ...!{decvax,hplabs,ncar,purdue,rutgers}! gatech!prism!gtd845aInternet: From: ()Subject: Re: My 95SL1 IS burning oil Newsgroups: Date: 1998/10/19 Hello, First, I am not a troll. This is a legitimate problem. If I wouldhave known that this Steve guy was a problem on this group, then I wouldhave never posted from Deja News. Other groups have problems withaccounts from hotmail and other free services. I should have used morecommon sense especially after reading many posts bashing that guy. . SATURN CAR PARTS : Second, about Saturn's lovely extended warranty...when my firstalternator went (bearing failure) the first time, I had no way ofgetting the car to the dealer simply because I was too far away, and Ineed the car EVERYDAY. So, I replaced the alternator in the driveway ofmy girlfriend's nearby relatives. I tried to get a refund of the partalone from Saturn and they generally laughed at me. I understand thatit isn't Saturn's responsibility to refund me for parts, but I wastreated pretty poorly, and the car was under warranty at the time. I wasnever a big fan of extended warranties, and if I had purchased the car,I never would have gotten it. When my second alternator went (voltageregulator), it was due to me buying a cheap replacement (I was in apinch and needed the part). SATURN CAR PARTS : Anyway, when I went to Saturn about the oil burning problem, thelady on the phone first chewed out my girlfriend for not havingreceipts. I at first didn't believe her, but when I called, I got muchof the same reception. They stated that I need all proof of all oilchanges, as well as all coolant changes and transmission fluid changes(mind you, this is for an oil burning problem). At the time, the caronly had 40,000 miles on it. Now, I know I should have keptthem...however, it seems that all other GM owners I know get somerespect from technical departments. They usually get their work donetoo. They don't get harassed. I even get 50 questions from dealerswhen I ask for information or parts. You should of seen the staff whenI asked about a tensioner pulley. I had to convince the guy that theserpentine belt didn't break. It wasn't like he was trying to behelpful either...he was just downright rude. When I walk into a placeto buy something I don't care if I am wrong...I'd just like my part, payfor it, and leave. I don't like interrogations when people are takingmy money.
