Players will still be able to tweak theirwheels and race them in practice races againstcomputer-controlled opponents, but all of that action willtake place online. So why is EA dropping the high-profileand bankable Need for Speed name from the title? "We droppedthe Need for Speed because this is not a traditional Needfor Speed sequel," says producer John Eberhardt. "This is anall-new racing and community experience, brought to you bythe team that also created NFS." The final product will be aserver-side, subscription-based racing game with ayet-to-be-determined fee.
