PARTS OF A CAR : helloI live in eastern Pa and I'm starting restoration on my 87 firebird .I've been looking around for a good parts car that has a good driversside front fender and door .I did find one at one of the local junkyards around here and I asked theguy there how much he wanted for it he said he only wanted to part itout .and when i asked the price for the pieces i needed ,he said $50for the fender and $100 for the door .....(the fender had a dent in itand the door had rust all over it )....I looked at him and asked if hewas sure about those prices and he said "I get $50 dollars for all myfenders " I don't think he sells that many fenders .but anywhoI figure i can find a better deal In buying a parts car becausethere are other parts I need and want also.Like newer interior ,Formula 16"wheels, front end and a wrap around spoiler hatch.

PARTS OF A CAR : yep, that's right, I have new parts for the 5.0, now everybody is probablywondering what they are. Well, before I say anything, let me say what they did.First, they got installed last tuesday. Wednesday, I went to the track (I had 2days off, what better way to spend them). Here's what the car ran before thenew parts: with a 2.39 60 footer.now here's the times from last wednesday: mph with a 2.19 60 footercan you see the big smile now? =)Yes, that's right ladies and gentlemen, I have 3.73 gears now, I'm a force tobe reckoned with(sort of). Me soooooo happyOn a sadder note, my friend who bought my '92 GT with an AOD (I still miss thatthing) is now selling it. He decided to go import, towards an Eclipse, nomatter, still easy prey. Anyhow, I'm looking to aqquiring my SVO headers, BBKhigh flow catalytic H-pipe, Moroso cold air induction and 16" Pony rims back,so my car will sound really good (I love the dumps on my Flowmasters!) and havethe stylish Pony rims everybody wants soooo bad =)

Be different, at least alittle bit anyway.Former original owner - '87 5 liter, 5 speed LX 14.2 @ 98 stock - 13.8 @ 101 lightly modded 2-chamber Flowmasters with dumps, BBK springs, Tokico shocks&struts, Marchunderdrive pulleys, K&N/no silencer, B&M Ripper, 3.73 gearsyeah, those headers helped out alot when I installed them on that car when itwas mine.I got my low end back after it disappeared when I installed the off-road H-pipeon that car. Smog legal is a must in California.I have Turbines instead with 245/55/ZR-15 Comp T/As mounted on them. If I don'tget these Pony rims, I might go with the '94-'98 16" Pony rims aka "WaffleStar" since they're now being made in 4-lug pattern.
