CAR PARTS NZ : I wholeheartedly agree with the Otago Wimminz group that has proposedthe renaming of car parts to more wimmin-friendly terms. In fact, Ihave a suggestion for possible new names. Thingamejig. Thats right, from now on, all car parts should henceforth be known as "Thingamejig".No more offensive and confusing terms like nipple ,nuts , or the gender exclusive MANifold. No morehomophobic Male and Female bits.Think of how much easier it will be for female mechanics - "Can youpass me that thingamejig over there?".And why stop at car parts? Think of all the other objects that wouldbenefit by being renamed to "Thingamejig". Tools, office equipment, household appliances, the list is endless. By the year 2000, enoughobjects will have been renamed to bring gender equality in theworkplace well within our grasp.

She needed only to look in any reputable dictionary todiscover that there is no gender based origin to the word whatever. Unlessof course we are to prohibit the obviously gender biased word "many" aswell. I try to be supportive, but this idiot makes (not you, Jason) makes itdifficult.Brian M. Auden CAR PARTS NZ : When I saw the article in the local freebie, the star, I said to my self"Oh look a troll in print, I wonder if there is a name for such a thing,or was it previously confined to the net ?". I still reckon it is atroll. What an insane hag beast, what is happening out there.BABYMASHYou're right. Men are sick of it too. I don't want a demisterin my car, I want a demissus. What's this breatHER tube, I paidfor the damn thing. Is a windSHEild some sort of gender-specificanti-flatulence device?I have to agree, hovever, that the term "dipstick" is most definitelysexist, being a fitting description of an obsessive feminist.... Maybe we could call a "windcock" a , except that thewind would blow straight through it eh? .. sorry if anyonelsesuggested this earlier. If you're talking of weathercocks it is simply a weather vane.Cock words mostly have nothing to do with sexual apparatuses. CAR PARTS NZ : I have a question regarding bringing over my car from USA to NZ. I knowthat I can get an international license that is valid for 12 months. Doesanyone know if I would be able to keep my USA registration/tag license formy car for that same 12 month period? There are several steps your car must go through first before it can bedriven in NZ. Most importantly, it *must* be registered in NZ. You can'tdrive it with US plates. Reading up on it, it will probably cost you aboutNZ$500-$1000 from landing in NZ to driving in NZ. This doesn't take intoaccount the cost of transporting the car to NZ from Florida. You may want to refer to the LTSA (Land Transport Safety Authority) websitefor information about bringing a car into NZ. It has lots of information, and after reading it, you may decide that it's better to leave your car inthe US and buy one here in NZ. The URL is CAR PARTS NZ : Just thinking too, that you might want to check with your bank (or autofinance company) about whether you are allowed to take a car out of thecountry permanently. You mentioned in a previous post that you couldn'tsell the car and get back what you owe on the loan. That must mean thatsomeone else holds the title. I don't know what restrictions they wouldhave on you removing the car, or what NZ would think of registering the carif you couldn't show a clear title. Like I said, I don't know if this isrelevant, but thought I'd mention it.Personally, I had to make the same decision 4 years ago when I moved to NZfrom the US. I had a Subaru Legacy Outback wagon which was just over a yearold (which I loved) but decided all the hassles weren't worth it. I'vefound it easy to adjust to driving on the left, but think it would have beenmuch more difficult if I were in a LHD car. Your reactions would be allmixed up.
