In the past, I have tried to deal with Kenne Bell with very littlesuccess. I found it impossible to obtain parts from them. Gary who responded toyour post, I think is in error in a couple of places. The 215, 300 and 340 arevery similar engines but not the Buick 350. It is a different animal. It takesdifferent rocker shaft assys, different push rods, lifters etc. I don't think adistributor from a 350 will fit a 215. And the last year for a Buick 350 was1981. BUICK CAR PARTS : The 350 has a 3.8 bore. The 340 a 3.75 bore. Buick changed the rockersfrom cast aluminum to stamped steel in the late 60's. The 340/350 have ahigher deck than the 300 has a higher deck than the 215. All the aboveengines and all the V-6's have the same bore centers (4.24 inch) and samecams and timing chains. There are other differences like main and roddiameters, rod lengths, etc but all are clearly the same family. Even thefront timing cover with oil pump and distributor will fit all the above V-8and V-6 engines. Some minor grinding for clearance is required to fit thelarge diameter HEI distributor in early motors. BUICK CAR PARTS : The 350 Buick was a real dog with small ports, long stroke (3.85 inches) andwas dropped after 1974. Buicks with 350 V-8's used Olds engines begining in1975.--Gary Derian Gary, I guess it boils down to parts interchangeability between engines todetermine if they are in the same family. I'm accustomed to swaping cylinderheads, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds etc. to determine "engine families".I have looked in many parts books and some of the parts are the same, as yousay, such as oil pump kit, timing chain kit but when it comes to the gaskets,they are helter skelter. The 215 takes a valley pan intake gasket but the 300 &340 don't, the 350 does but a different number than the 215. And this list goeson and on. If you look in your Fel-Pro gasket catalog, you will see theconfusion. With this in mind, I will give you the "same engine" theory. I willadvise that you refer to the same catalog and see that Buick, indeed, had a 350until 1981. The following is from the catalog and all refer to a Buick producedengine, not Olds (although they did use the Olds engine, you needed to know theVIN to determine if the 350 was Buick or Olds.)Vin H & J = 1975-77Vin X = 1978-80Vin B = 1981.... There isa chart on the box that lists the models and makes of automobiles that thisitem fits. BUICK CAR PARTS : There is no additional hardware included in the item. The inside measurementsare 19 and 1/4 by 4 and 5/8 inches. There are 2 "holes" half way down the shortside for the "rods". The holes are approximately 3/8 inch in diameter. Some of the printing on the box includes: Made of high impact plastic;guaranteed not to corrode, guaranteed not to break; guaranteed to last the lifeof the car.
